For those of you who read my blog or know me, you know that I believe in Angels. Maybe not always the spiritual ones, although I believe this is true too, but the ones who silently help, cheer us on, or do small things that help so much…. everyday.
For me, and this is just my opinion, I believe there are Angels who watch over us, who guide us through and who also let us make our own mistakes sometimes wishing they had stepped in (I might add more than once). There are reasons I believe this is true. One is mostly because my Mom has taught me this my whole life and two, because I have made it through some amazing things. I remember being so sick through cancer treatments and in bed at my folks house just knowing someone was sitting on the bed with me the whole time and holding my hand, I could feel them, indent on the bed and them holding my hand, only to find out that no one was in the room with me as my family was trying to let me rest. I always figured it was my Dad or even my brother who had already passed away just watching over me, or perhaps a special Angel just sent for that purpose of trying to help me get through those terrible times.
But for those of you who might not believe in the Angels we can not see, I know you have met real Angels in your life. Someone who stepped in when you needed it the most. Someone who has been a friend for years and has always been there for you. A parent, a brother, sister, co-worker or even a stranger.
For me there has been many, and at times I hope that I have been able to repay them by helping someone else.
But right now I want to talk about my Mom for a minute. My Mom will be 80 this year and we are so blessed because she is healthy, happy and going strong. But occasionally for all of us 80 or not, a bit forgetful at times, and this is where some Angels come in for me and for her. Mom my has been in the same house for forty-seven years. My folks bought this house when I was two and we have seen numerous changes, not only in the house from canary yellow to avocado green, but to neighbors who have come and gone. But for the last several years the neighborhood has settled in, it is beautiful and just a wonderful place to have my folks live without much worry of their well being. And here is where the Angels come in. My folks are surrounded by wonderful people. They have great neighbors across the street, on the one side and down the block. And these neighbors, since I live about 40 minutes away, are even good to me. I can not tell you how many times I have called to ask them to stop by and let the folks know they left the phone off the hook and I have been trying to get a hold of them. How many times they just check in and keep an eye out and mostly just stop by and visit (which my Mom LOVES), with my mom sharing coffee, cookies and some really good hugs!
Now back to my previous statement of “I hope that I can repay the kindness” I have felt and have had the wonderful opportunity of knowing especially with this book. So I would like to pay back a kindness to one of my Mom’s favorite neighbors.
Her name is Kathi Nelson and she is an incredible artist. She creates jewelry and mosaics and shared a very important one with my Mom at Christmas, just take a look at this beautiful gift.
My Mom was thrilled and although it says “GARDEN-ian” Angel my Mom hung it proudly in the kitchen where of course everyone hangs out when they visit (the best place in the house).
So now here is the best part! You too can order these beautiful Angels and check out Kathi’s other items at her website (don’t forget to check out the ooooo La La link)

Kathi and I went to check out the show this month and it was WAY COOL.
Very underground, very cool, not your ordinary art show and very exciting!
