WORLD CANCER DAY – FEBRUARY 4, 2010
Posted in Uncategorized on 02/02/2010 09:30 pm by quietangelFebruary 4, 2010 is WORLD CANCER DAY! The theme this year is Cancer Can Be Prevented Too! What is your preventative measure against Cancer?
For those of you who know me or who have read my book, you know that I have always been a supporter of all cancers. I have long felt that just one cancer should not get all the attention and support, but that we should be sharing the money, fighting the fight, and trying to CURE all cancers all around the world! After all, some are worst then others there is not doubt about that, but in the end they are all bad, they are all horrific and the experience is the same for everyone not anywhere you want to be… ever! So let’s get out there, let’s fight to CURE all of them! This day reminds me of that. This day is not just for one cancer it is for all cancers, to honor all, all those fighting, and sadly all those we have lost. So let’s do that, not just today but all year, let’s fight and keep fighting until we can put an end to it!!
How can Cancer Be Prevented Too? Of course, cancer is cancer in my book. Others might not agree with me, but I personally am not sure you can fight it off, If it is in your future. I think for some of us, for whatever reason… unexplained, it was in our futures. Maybe so we could make a difference to others, or maybe so we could make a difference to ourselves. Or maybe to be humbled to help others, there are no answers, but there is what YOU make of it. But can it… in the end, be prevented? Of course, I think if we take care of our bodies, our minds, if we exercise, eat right, rest and live a good life…yes I do think our chances are better and that is what this messages is for. It is to get us moving, to get us off the couch, to get us to eat right and do the right thing. This is easy, we can do it! Take care of yourself! As they always say…this is not a dress rehearsal!
So for World Cancer Day, honor yourself, do something healthy today, take a walk, lifts some weights and eat some broccoli, it is all very important in the end!
And most importantly, if you know a survivor, or if you know someone who is going through the disease or someone who has a loved one going through the disease, take a moment today, give them a call, send them a message, and tell them you are thinking about them, you love them and you wish them WELL.
You will be very happy you did it in the end!!
