Idiots! A very short blog…
Posted in Uncategorized on 11/25/2009 09:07 am by quietangelSo, self-exams are useless and mammograms at 50! It leaves you speechless. Who are these people? Do they live in a closet, under a rock? Truly, I am ALMOST speechless. Do these “people” not live in the REAL world? I just can’t believe it. Do they not know that in this huge world of ours, it is almost impossible to meet someone who has not been affected with cancer, whether it be them, a loved one, a friend or a family member? Or someone who spends their time, affected or not, but volunteers to help those who are. Do they not see that Susan G. Komen Foundation makes millions, not because they are just out there getting the job done, but because of the millions, upon million who are touched by cancer and participate to help find a cure. But instead of finding a cure, our government wants to see who we can lose by waiting to the last possible moment to do a mammogram, and teaching women that self-exams are not important! It is mind boggling! How do these people get their jobs?
So from a 46 year old women, who found her disease and lump with a self-exam and a mammogram and who is still here today because of this procedure and the head on my shoulders, I want to tell those of you who have been touched, who were diagnosed at a young age, who have friends, family, loved ones ,who have dealt with this disease to….. FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT!
And to those who love me, who stood next to me when I found a lump at the age of 36 , and encouraged me to go and get a mammogram, and along with these test, are the reason I am here today and have lived another ten years and counting….my heartfelt gratitude, love and respect for not living under a rock, hiding from what we don’t want to hear, and having the fotitude to help me to be healthy and strong.
To each and everyone of you this is my thanks! The only reason I am here, I am able to extend my heartfelt gratitude, to see another beautiful day, and spend time with loved ones is because of these test! So yes, I will fight, I will sign, and I will do my best to be heard, so in hopes that one day, all of us will have the chance to be here to wish the ones we love……Happy Thanksgiving!!
